WIP Wednesday

I feel like my posts are so far and few between these days.  I have some exciting things going on though.  On the weekend, November 3rd to be exact, I got married!  It was a perfect day, and if you're the type that likes wedding photos please take a gander at the photographer's page...she did an amazing job!

I did actually do something recently though!  A friend at work is getting married, so I made a swaddler for her coming baby.  They are not going to find out the gender before hand so I tried to stay gender neutral.  It's too bad because I have some really lovely children's fabrics.

This is a dumb dot print by Michael Miller that I got from the Fat Quarter Shop with plain white on the inside.

There it is open, and it's hard to tell but I placed the velcro so that there would be the max amount of adjustability with the least amount of velcro.  I used a pattern from Pinterest, but the original design is available for free here.  I didn't have an appropriate fabric for lining it (fleece/flannel) so I used a cotton and then lined it with batting.  This makes it a bit thicker than it's supposed to be, so hopefully it all works out ok.  It was a good afternoon project and I think it makes a wonderful shower gift.

So, sharing this on WIP Wednesday!
