Here is where the magic happens, or something along those lines. I am currently living in a small basement so I have very little space to work with.
So far, the bulk of my work has been cutting. I find it very relaxing, and I greatly enjoy the precision that is required. However, it would be nice to see more progress than piles of fabric. More on that soon.
The pictures include my little projects that are on the go. You'll notice that a key piece is missing...my sewing machine!! It's in the shop for a 'tune-up' but I have a feeling that I may need to upgrade soon. I'm thinking online, unless I can find a good used one. Sigh, being a student rocks.

Looking Back
Even though I'm just now aiming to get into quilting, it's not my first kick at the can so to speak. A number of years ago a family friend helped my sisters and I make some lovely bags.
Here's mine, front and back. I wanted to make it that way, but it turns out that the bag is a little too deep and the strap a bit too long. I hope that I will be able to try again, and make one that's a bit more practical next time around. Maybe I'll try to make the next one a bit more bright and fun.

I have this urge to have quilted everything.

It has begun...
Well, I don't expect anyone to read this. In fact, I'll be quite shocked if someone does. I guess it's more of a very non-private diary. I really, really wanted to be able to follow other quilters on blogger, mostly crazy mom quilts.
I made a blogger account specifically so that I could follow her blog. Oh my.
Note to self, take pictures of quilt projects number 1 and 2 to share on here. I'm sure I will want documentation.
